Internet becomes shit. For a 400/400Mbit FTTH line, this is just not acceptable.
And don't for one moment think it actually gets better.

By the 30th of October 2025 I am having a full blown argument with my internet service provider. Because not only are speeds not up to scratch, gaming is fucked. FORTNITE began to experience issues:
And so it went on, back and forth. We even swapped out the router temporarily and the problem did not resolve (no surprise there).
We expended a lot of effort to prove it was not our side, but suffice to say, the service provider would not budge, and eventually I was advised to migrate
to IPv6 as that would "fix my issues". The problem is that any decently capable router that can handle IPv6 with fastpath (hardware acceleration) is expensive,
out of my budget.
Knowing that NordVPN solves the problem, and in view of a security breach I suffered earlier that year I decided I would replace the router with a better
router and one that can route everything over NordVPN. Then my spouse lost her job and any chance of affording a new Mikrotik router was off the table.

So by this point, dear reader, you can imagine I am livid, my internet sucks, and our income is cut in half.
